The race ... a difficult recovery!
Today I ran and it was now four months that I hadn't practiced a real sport !!!
So to be honest, I had the impression of being a person of 80 years who had smoked all his life. I had trouble breathing, my legs were shaking, and even with my athele I had knee pain.
Here is the session that I realized : 10 minutes pace race jogging, brisk walking 5 minutes , then 5 minutes of race before finishing with 10 minutes of walking.
30 minutes that seems sometimes take forever .....
Wednesday,I will run one more time, I realy hope that it will be better for me this time.

Re: The race ... a difficult recovery!
I imagine it'll take a few weeks before you're feeling decent running again.
Re: The race ... a difficult recovery!
You are absolutely right ....
As expected I was run yesterday, and although it isn't for a long time, there is progress !!! I ran twenty minutes and then walked five minutes. However, I continued the race during ten minutes and last ten to walk.
Finaly, I ran twice more than the first time. I 'm glad I managed, it is a personal achievement. Indeed, It's also due from my physiotherapist who posed me K- Tape ( to hold my knee during the race). It isn't beautifull but it helps me so much!!!

Re: The race ... a difficult recovery!
Thank you, it's very nice !
For the last topic whose I will speak about you in this forum, I have chosen to present ......Nordic walking !!!
Many people make fun of this sport. Yes, maybe you don't believe that Nordic Walking is a sport, but it's a real one. Walking is often considered as a joke and seems sometimes so slow. If you add the grotesque image that the walking sticks give... it's the icing on the cake!
I'm not ashamed of what I do, John if you don't think so, ask to the other persons of describe my outfit and my circus attitude!
So I thought: why not try Nordic walking?
This is one of the few sports which muscle all the body with a relatively homogeneous manner.
I took my courage in both hands, or rather, my walking sticks and I went with a group on the long walk that only lasted two hours and a half ....
Local residents were looking at us like we were monkeys in a tree in the countryside, something simply impossible.
Considering my physical condition, I simply followed the movement of the group. This sport has a place in my reeducation.
Don't be afraid from people who are watching you, go try it !!!
